dr Michał Barański

Legal counsel specializing in individual and collective employment and labour law. He brings over ten years of litigation and advisory practice, successfully combining an academic background with hands-on legal advisory.

His practice particularly focuses on legal support for employers during regulatory inspections (including Social Insurance Institution and Labor Inspectorate). He has extensive experience in collective dispute resolution, regularly participating in negotiations and mediations. He supports in drafting internal bylaws — such as collective agreements, compensation schemes, bonus policies, and work rules. He also leads labour law audits and corporate workshops.

Since 2009, he has been associated with the University of Silesia in Katowice, where he is a lecturer (adjunct). He shares his knowledge with students of postgraduate labour law studies organised by the Jagiellonian University. In addition, he lectures on labour law within the international doctoral school of the University of Miskolc.

Author and co-author of more than 80 scholarly works, including recurring commentaries on the Labour Code and Civil Code, he also acts as Editor-in-Chief of the academic journal ‘Labour Law and Social Policy Issues’ (“Z Problematyki Prawa Pracy i Polityki Socjalnej”).

In 2023, his international credentials were confirmed by his appointment as a CEPS (Centre for European Policy Studies) external expert for a European Commission study on traineeships and internships.
